Morning mist

Moon face half scarred with darkness
I breathe a mist of stars.
The alpha and omega did not envision
that searing of nostrils and heart with every breath
What human body could withstand the fecklessness of
immortal design?
And when the sun rises as a god from the heavens and you, shaking, cowering, shield your eyes
while the sea in its eternal greyness
moves ponderously, mightily, with sloth and anger and rage
who are you to question?
You can only breath burning icy breaths
and stare and stare like a fool
as a speck would upon
the cosmos.

You can only breath burning icy breaths
and stare and stare like a fool
as a speck would upon
the cosmos.
