I will take a cue from an amazing poet on my friend's list and focus on little things, the edges and corners:
We almost didn't make the bus which left at 9.30am; sandwiches packed and half sleeping, we climbed in with half empty bags, ready for the shops. And then we left the city and the mist and the dark and drove into sunshine and endlessness. Sitting back I saw rows of fields turned a crisp new green and cows and sheep and rabbits. Looking up at a passing craggy cliff the sky rose blue and clear, up and up and peeking amidst trees was the rocky head of a castle.
To look down into the city was amazing, there were hundreds of people walking, sitting, chatting, playing bagpipes and accordions and saying speeches and juggling...and shopping I suppose. One would need a week to cover all the stores. And we were dragged into this maelstrom of wants and needs and could haves and shoe lust and oh everything. And at night we were a bit scared, with all the infinite places and there were also the dark shadowy streets and little alleyways. We ended up coming home both nights at around 1am, exhausted from the shopping, lol.
I thought the ride home would have been horrible (Josie snored the entire weekend) but it was glorious again and there is nothing I like better than to sit and stare at things passing endlessly, which doesn't reflect well on my personality I guess.
I want to live there.
